Premium Organic Garden Soil

A rich garden blend of organic compost, screened soil, sand and ash.

Premium-Organic-Garden-Soil-Landscape-CapalabaWhat is Premium Organic Garden Soil?

A rich garden blend of organic compost, screened soil, sand and ash.  A beautiful black growing medium suitable for a range of garden and landscape applications.

What are it's uses?

Our Premium Organic Garden Soil can be used for Vegetable and flower gardens.  It can also be used for Native gardens because our soil contains no manure or other animal products.  The compost component of our soil is made totally from plant based compost.  It will therefore not burn your plants no matter what variety, at all, ever!

How do I calculate how much I need?

Measure the area you need to fill with Premium Organic Garden Soil.  Say for example, you are going to fill a Vegetable garden and the garden is 2.4m long by 1.2m wide by 200mm deep.  The calculation would be:

Formula:  Length (m) x Width (m) x Depth (m) = m3

2.4 x 1.2 x 0.200 = 0.576

That means that you require 1/2m3 of Premium Organic Garden Soil for this vegetable garden.

Anything else to consider?

We always recommend mulching your gardens no matter what kind of garden you have.  This helps the soil retain moisture and also aids in the suppression of weeds.

Our soils are nutrient rich, however, plants, turf and the weather will deplete the soil of these nutrients and therefore you should fertilise regularly to get the best growth out of your plants.  If you are not sure what fertiliser to use call our friendly sales staff or take a photo of your garden and bring it in and we can suggest the best fertiliser for the plants in your garden.  As a general rule you can use Organic Xtra on all your exotic gardens and lawns and you can use Turf Master on all your lawns, but also on your Native gardens.  Native plants do not like high levels of phosphorus and turf/lawn fertilisers generally have low levels of phosphorus, but always check the nutrient levels on the packaging.  Nutrient levels on fertilisers are listed in this format:  N:P:K.  The 'N' is for Nitrogen.  The 'P' is for Phosphorus and the 'K' is for Potassium.  Nitrogen promotes leaf growth and greens up your plants.  Phosphorus promotes root growth and development and Potassium promotes flower and fruit growth.
